Bicester Village on the design of its Christmas pop-up boutique. We have come up with something that I hope will look and feel rather unexpected and very special.
Our concept takes its inspiration from an imagined eccentric English country house and will no doubt provide a colourful, magical environment for Bicester Village festive shoppers.” Luke Edward Hall
The façade is like nothing else in Bicester Village and will entice guests to discover something extraordinary as it transforms a normal boutique space into an eccentric English country house.
Panelled walls in high-gloss red line the interior and luxurious geometric fabrics decorate the boutique, taking guests on a visual journey. At first glance, the elaborate fixtures, draped velvet curtains and backlit shelved ‘windows’ give the illusion of an old English drawing room with large open windows.
The interior features unexpected colour combinations, inspired by interiors from 1960s and 1970s, including a bespoke pink and gold carpet that covers the entire floor of the boutique. Curious pieces of furniture and chintz sofas have been commissioned to create the perfect backdrop against which the exciting fashion, interior and accessory brands are presented.
Product Range
While the design and curation of The British Collective boutique encourages a mood of wonder, discovery and festive fun, so does the wonderful curation of the items available. Columns line the walls to showcase key gifting items and Luke’s own product range features printed cushions, illustrated ceramics, festive baubles and a special collaboration with British knitwear designer John Smedley and various Czech & Speake products. The Luke Edward Hall X Smedley sweater is exclusive to The British Collective and features a hand-drawn face illustration knitted onto a traditional round neck sweater.
Don’t miss the launch of this extraordinary new pop-up boutique in the Village in October, which will be open from 9 am to 8 pm Monday to Wednesday, 9 am to 9 pm Thursday to Saturday and 10 am to 7 pm on Sundays. With Bicester Village only 46 minutes from London Marylebone, there is no Christmas gifting dilemma that can’t be solved.
